The 2017 American Educational Research Association's (AERA) Annual Meeting will be held Thursday April 27 - Monday May 1, 2017, in San Antonio, TX. The call for proposals opened June 1, and closes on July 22, 2016. Please refer to the AERA website for details on how to submit.
ARIEL is an AERA special interest group of educators, scholars, and practitioners dedicated to research in and on immersive technology.
ARIEL SIG is the Applied Research in Immersive Environments for Learning Special Interest Group (formerly ARVEL, Applied Research in Virtual Environments for Learning SIG).
We invite you to submit proposals to our SIG for presentation at the AERA 2017 conference.
We invite you to share with us your proposals that address immersion through existing and emerging technologies for teaching and learning - including virtual worlds, games, augmented and mixed reality, wearable technologies, the Internet of things, and other emerging immersive technologies in learning.
This is a particularly exciting time for immersive learning. Industry is making heavy investments in mobile VR, and we’re particularly interested in proposals that describe research in this area. It seems likely that substantial curriculum will soon be available for schools, and understanding the strengths and limits of this approach is important.
Please support our SIG by submitting your paper and poster proposals, and by sharing this call for proposals with others who may be interested. We can provide a more expert review than SIGs that are generic in their approach to learning technologies.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you next spring!
